Ever since I bought my Traditions Buckstalker when it came out, I thought about just how close the action looked to my H&R's but slightly different. I have wondered, but never tested to see if H&R barrels will interchange or Traditions barrels will interchange though. Today working on my Northwest Tradesgun concept from the Huntsman page, I pulled out my Buckstalker and took off it's forearm and barrel and snapped it onto the frame for my trade gun and low and behold it fit perfectly! The barrel screw support is much heavier and square, but the Underlug is identical (little thinner) as is the latch shelf. Unfortunately, the thinner slot in the Buckstalker frame means that the H&R Barrels will not go onto it. I'm not stating it's a perfect union as open it's a little sloppy, but it latches up tight and fits as well as my .223 Rem does. Just thought I'd pass the data along. Might be good for doing stub work also, if one comes across some Traditions ML's cheap. hehe
Closed Action - locks up tight
Open Action - little sloppy, but won't come off and ramrod holds also.
