45-70 sights
« on: March 20, 2012, 05:29:20 AM »
I'm trying to take off the iron sights from a 22' 45-70 to transfer to a different barrel.  I removed all the screws but they don't seem to wanna come off.  I haven't been too rough with them yet cause I don't wanna scratch the barrel.  I am missing something?  Any and all thoughts will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Sounds like someone used loctite on em, maybe a little more than they needed.  ;) Use a block of wood against the sights and a light tap with a hammer, I bed scope rails in loctite, that works for me to get em off after the screws are removed.
