Non Handi reamer question
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:39:55 PM »
Although not a HANDI I placed a Savage 24 in layaway today it is .222 over 20G. IT also came with two full length liners for the shotgun barrel a .357Mag and a .410 could not pass up the deal. Now my question is can the .222 barrel be reamed out to .223 as I have several rifles chamberd for it already. Any help will be appiciated .

It will clean up the chamber but the .223 runs 55K PSI and the .222 is 50K,  Not much more pressure, but the barrels on the 24's aren't very thick.  I have one in 30-30 over 20 gauge.  Larry

If it cleans up the chamber as has been stated, the pressure is no probem....<><....:)
