Shipping to FFL ?

Whats involved for the seller, shipping to an FFL ? What to do with the copy of the FFL, cost if any. I know you ship insured, but thats all I know for sure. Please help.

Make sure you have a copy of their f f l, and only ship it to the address on the f f l, and keep the copy that you have.

Yup thats it, keep FFL in safe place with all firearm papers. I hesitate to say never... but don't plan on tossing it away to be safe. ;)

As written, ONLY SHIP to address on FFL, enclose copy of your driver licence or other recognised identification.

  These FFL restrictions are interesting..and mandatory, of course.  However some byproducts are problematical..
 
  Let's assume any here are legal to own guns..no felons or criminal intents..  I see a Handi-rifle action for sale on the web which I would really like.  It's at the right price..about $120..but now there is shipping , say $10, insurance say $5 ...that's already $135, then add another $15 or so for the FFL holder's time & trouble..we're talking $150 . Now the individual states are starting to clamp onto internet sales for their sales tax..another $10 or $15.  ...$120 soon balloons to $160..
 
  I guess that's just another cost of living with a govt that is "regulation nuts"..

I circumvent most of the cost and B.S. by buying long guns and frames in my own state whenever I can.  You can't be in a rush, and you've  got to keep your eyes open for what you want.  I say do it now, because I think they're going to close that door soon and impose the same regulations, state by individual state.  The Antis have got a lot of cash and thereby political strength....ethical or not.

Not in my neck of the woods, I wish it was just $15!   That alone caused me to pass on receivers a long time ago!

Be sure the FFL will accept a shipment from a non FFl some will with a copy of your drivers license some won't.

More and more licensees won't send their paper to a non-licensee, only to another licensee, one reason why I switched dealers.  You don't need a copy if you use the FFL Ez check website, all you need is their license number to verify their address and current status.

Good link to have Tim, thanks.  ;)  I have found this reticence to ship out paperwork with my FFL's here.  They will usually only fax it out and only to another FFL.

One of my FFL guys will not accept shipment except thru another FFL.  It's a hassle for them, along with possible stolen property issues.

Most of the local dealers here think it is a hassle to have to package and ship a firearm to another FFL that I can legally ship myself.
