A factory fitted rifle barrel will cost about $160 after shipping both ways, fitting fee and tax, the $96 is just for the barrel, those with sights cost close to $200.

I thought E-Bay doesn't allow the sale of gun barrels?  They did away with Thompson Contender barrels years ago.  Hmmmm????

Wow, I can't believe how high that is. A new complete gun is only $50 or $60 more. I am about to put every one of my barrels on there.  ::)

I've seen all sorts of things on ebay selling for a higher used price than a new one goes for. Especially with technology like computers (and not any type of collectibles stuff).

I used to try to Buy off of ebay.  I bought a lot of Brass & Reloading equipment.  People got to where they really didn't know the value of what was being Sold.  They would bid way over what it was worth.  I quit fooling with it several years ago.

Too many people believe the auction sites are the only way to buy used. I too have seen things I wanted take off for more than three or four times the current trading rate.
I do like taking advantage of sellers who don't know what they have and place the items in the wrong listings. Getting a scarce bayonet worth hundreds for the $35 or so opening bid is always nice. :)

If you look at the bids, I think he is "shill bidding", or either bidding on it himself or having friends or relatives bid to up the price....the last legitimate bid(way down the list)is $115....he has gone way too far on this one....you watch, after it ends, it will mysteriously be relisted....

yes someone is bidding up the price, I was bidding on a scope recently and a bidder bid against himself 5 straight times at like 5 dollars per bid. Last nite I got a notice that the scope was relisted.

Yes you can't believe what things go for on fleabay, before the tree hugger's in CA stopped letting you list anything to do with firearms. I was selling H&R barrels on there usually made $50 to $75 a sale after the listing & sale costs were withheld, at one time I had 12 frames in the pipeline between NY and here. If I remember right a new barrel at the time cost me shipping and fitting around $135, the most I got for one was a 243 that sold for $296????

I am surprised there has not been much buzz about ebay changing their policy on any of the forums I read.  Towards the end of the run before they pulled gun parts it was a polarizing topic here.  The prices going on ebay were much higher than what members were selling for here and that caused a bit of drama.

I cant remember the last time I bought something from an ebay auction - too much time and effort, I have bought a rare few items with the buy it now feature but most of my business (not gun related) has been with amazon sellers.

No he is a different guy..funny to me that ebay changed its policy, but Paypal(owned by ebay) didn't change their policy on gun related stuff

Probably because most forums have a Classifieds and the forum users tend to trust other members more than ebay sellers.  ;)
