getting ready for squirrel hunting

Swapped to the .22 barrel and started sighting in at 35 yards.  Fired shots until the compression chamber started to puff a little smoke when I opened the action.  Got a rough dial in and tomorrow will fine tune the scope settings for 45 yards.  Here's todays target

A supertuned Beeman RX-2 switch barrel

I have a Mod RWS52 and RWS 48. naturally spring loaders but very accurate with
scope setup that I have on them!
 
Good luck on your squirrel hunting, wish I could sta rt hunting but will have to wait until November!

Thanks, by November I hope to be sniping rabbits also.  Last year my work schedule didn't allow me to hunt at all.  I AM going to rectify that situation this year.

Got into the woods today, saw three squirrels, fired five times, and came home empty handed  .  Seems that when your target turns up at 7 to 15 feet and you're sighted in at 40 yards it is quite easy to miss a 1 3/4 inch target.  Oh well, lesson learned.  I'm re-sighted at just a tick under 20 yards.  Tomorrow is another day.

After re-sighting and re-sighting again, I found a loose stock screw.  Tightened everything down, and re-zeroed the scope.  Then headed to the woods.  Saw one Grey and one Fox, opted to stay with the grey.  Stalked and slinked through my woods for over an hour and finally got a perfect shot.  Heart / lung shot took out both shoulders and the pellet buried itself in the tree.
 
Good enough, wife says she don't want no tree rat on her plate    more for me!!

Back in my married days my wife was a real trooper! she would help skin squirrels, cook`em and eat`em! Even would go out shooting with me and she was a pretty good shot( probably should not have taught her the fine art of shooting)!
Nowadays you could not get her near a squirrel dead or alive! Too much high society influence ,I guess.

I would like to point out that the shot ("good shooting...") is the culmination of a whole series of events that allowed me to take the shot.  Hunting is more than just shooting.
