I,m making my first post as new member and thought this would be the best spot. I am trading a M7 ss/syn 7/08 Rem in on a Rem 7600 30/06. The 7 is anice rifle but ammo selections is less than desireable(I don't handload anymore). And I've always used an 870 since I was a kid. I guess I'm just partial to pumpguns! What's your favorite factory load for this gun and cal.? I'm using the same scope, Elite 3200 2x7.

I had a 760 (my son has it now) and I enjoyed hunting with it. I used 180gr Remington ammo. I hand loaded 165gr Core-lokts for years for it too. I'd try the 165gr Core-lokts in yours. My son has a Savage 110 .243, a Ruger M77 MKII .280, and the 760 in 30-06. He says the pump is his most accurate rifle. He loads 165gr bullets for it too. Good luck and good hunting. Dave

Remington 760

:-)
I owned a Remington 760 in .30-06 in the late 1970s. It gave around 1 MOA when benched at 100 yards using the Remington 180 grain Core Lokt factory ammo. I got about 2 MOA with the 220 grain Core Lokt factory ammo. Friends with the 7600 rifle in .30-06 and .35 Whelen are shooting between 1 and 2 MOA. From their shooting results and various posts on forums, it appears that the Remington 7600 is quite an accurate firearm, as was the 760 I owned. I reload, but I do buy factory ammo when it is on sale. I have always had good results from Remington ammunition in .308, .30-06, .375H&H, and .44 magnum. Remington factory 220 grain .30-06 Core Lokt shoots less than or at worst 1.5 MOA in my 7400 synthetic carbine when benched.  Guess you could call that an endorsement for Remington ammo.

Well I went to the local gunshop yesterday and bought my new Mod 7600 in 30/06. My Elite 3200 is mounted and boresighted and I can't wait to go to the local gravel bank and shoot it a few times. When the weather gets nice I'll go to the range and bench it. I love it! Very smooth and slick action and feels just right. Points like a dream! :-D  :-D  :-D
