puma 454 casull sights

the rear sight on my puma 454 is not solid = it floats side to side. also, i have to set it on the lowest setting to not shoot high. can this be corrected by a gunsmith and what would it cost ? incidentally the gunshoots great except when i use winchester ammo which jams almost every time.

Puma 454 with Marbles Tang Sight
« Reply #1 on: January 12, 2004, 06:45:23 PM »
Gunpilot, I put a Marbles tang sight on my Puma 454. It extends the sight radius from about 16 inches to almost 26 inches. It is adjustable for elevation and windage. Cost is $125 retail plus the cost to have a hole drilled and tapped. The Marbles sight comes with the front and rear screw.

The weather has been pretty miserable, so I have only shot it a few times with the Marbles sight. It sure looks nice. I'm anxious to try it this next weekend where I can shoot it from a good bench rest.

Regarding shooting high, what weight of bullet are you using? Heavy bullets shoot high at fairly close range. A lighter weight bullet might be better. Turbo
If it isn't fun, it probably isn't worth doing.

Go to amback.com (American Backyard) for lower price on Marbles sights ($88 I believe).  92's are a little picky about bullet shape and cartridge length when it comes to feeding.  See if one or the other is a problem with the Win ammo.
