Questions about 35 Rem.

I am going to send a receiver in for a 357mag barrel. While at it I thought I might get another barrel. Liking the 35 Rem. so my question is. Has anyone got a 35 Rem. accessory barrel, and have you had any problems with it? Likes and dislikes?

Is there any point in having the 35 Rem. if I take the 357 to Max?
Talk me into it or talk me out of it. Let me know what you think. :-\

The Maxi offers alot more versatility. You can shoot 38's for small game and plinking and Mag's and Maxi's for big game. I like the 35 but I wouldn't give up my Maxi to get one.
What do you plan on using the gun for?

Most likely use it for deer in the primitive season, insted of my 444.

I intend to get the 357 for the reasons you just gave. Just want to get another barrel while I am in the store.

I like playin' with all kinds of calibers, but it sure seems that if the .357 whichever doesnt do enough that the .444 will. Im getting past the point where I feel the need for an overlap of cartridge capability.
You know, simplify-simplify.....

The 35 Remington can do a lot more than traditional 35 Rem loads in a modern platform if you handload, mine will push the 180gr jacketed to 2450fps, but the 35 Whelen is also available if you want even more overlap.  ;)

Morning,
 If your gonna stay with factory level loads, the 35 Rem only offers minor improvement and that's only because its a better platform for the 200G bullet. The maxi really tops out with a 180. The maxi also doesn't have the occasional head space issues from the Rems tiny shoulder.

BUT, If your gonna load to the SUPER 35 REM pressures. Than that changes things as this loading is better in vel & energy.

I prefer what the 357 Maximum offers....

I like them both.  That said, I really like the Max.  Carbide dies, no fussing with lube.  Breeze to load on my 650.  200gr @2100fps.  I have even shot a 263gr @1750fps with 1.5" groups in the Max. (and these are just about max loads in MY gun).  I wouldn't hesitate to swat a deer @150yds with the max. 
That said, a 35 Rem barrel using the super 35 rem loads, would probably get you 250 yds easy.  All depends on what you want to do with the gun.
