IMI Timberwolf .44 Mag
« on: May 13, 2011, 04:40:22 PM »
Springfield Armory imported 1000 of the Timberwolf carbine in .44Mag in the very early 1990's. Also a larger number in .357 Mag but I dont know the year or years thru. I have been fortunate enough to aquire one of the .44's although at the expense of having to part with my beloved .22 6" Diamondback Colt. This handy little rifle has proven itself extremely accurate with all bullet weights I have chosen to put through it, although I lean toword the factory standard 240's for the majority of my shooting needs. It has in fact replaced the Marlin 1894 .44 lever gun as my all time favorite short range east coast brush rifle for deer. I am currently in the market for a .357 version of this weapon if anyone out there has a line on one. Besides that I am interested in anyone's experience with their own Timberwolf. Info on obtaining an owners manual, spare parts, or possibly even the box that it came in would be great! If any of you has an idea that I havent thought of, please post that also. (Other accesories etc.  I mean) All around a great still hunting weapon. Light, accurate, powerfull, and a much more than adequate magazine capacity. (10+1) My only complaint is that the design only incorporates onr relatively thin transfer bar. No problems with that as of yet, but I do prefer the dual system like the one on the Rem. 870, or the 760, 7600. Thanx in advance everyone!

I have had one each in 357/44.  Google timberwolf carbine manual it's in Pdf.  Of course they are takedowns, whatever you do don't pull back on the forearm slide too hard while assembling the two halves, the ejector pokes out of the left side of the receiver and you can deform that hole/ejector.

Thanx for the heads up on that. I understand the angle of the stock is adjustable as well. Can you tell me how to do that?
