Could anybody out there give me the outer dia. measurement of a 12 ga. Encore barrel at the breech and muzzle? Thanks.

All Encore barrels should be .995" at breech. Don't know the muzzle but it shouldn't be much less.

My 12 gauge slugger is just a sliver under an inch (I dont have a micrometer).  Identical  on the muzzle end.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.It seems like the slug barrel must be very thin walled in the chamber area.I am trying to decide whether to go with the 12 or the 20 slugger.Hows the 12 for accuracy and recoil.I am shooting a N.E.F. trakkerII in 12 ga. right now and at 5 and 1/2 lbs. with 385gr. Partition golds the recoil is nothing short of brutal.

Recoil

I have the 12 gauge slugger.
Recoil is stout but managable.

I only shoot 2-3/4" sabots.  Have not tried 3" but I'm sure they hurt.

The load I use is the Federal Premium 2-3/4" , solid copper Barnes Expander 3/4 oz sabots @ 1900 FPS.  These slugs are VERY expensive (around $2.00 each).  Accuracy is exceptional.

This is my first year hunting with the Encore so I went with iron sights.
I can see the potential for "scope eye" if one is not careful.

The only problem I've had with the Encore is with the wood.
Cracked in the pistol grip area.  TC sent a new one at no charge.
I'm going to order a Virgin Valley Kevlar stock as soon as I can raise the funds.
