Considering they outshot a lot of 700's for less then 200 bucks when they came on the market they were a great investment.

I was told the never seen more then a box of shells threw the barrel since new, bluing is excellent stock not a mark on it spent it life in a gun safe.
I had to look it over to see how to remove the bolt I seen the small latch on the rear inside of the action left side.

I read there was a recall for repair work on the 600's
was it with the A stamped in the serial number or guns recalled without the A ?
this rifle has the A stamped into the first serial number

Don't worry about the recall.

well I did purchase it nice gun going to test it on Saturday
I also got a extra stock with it and the plastic floor plate.
I loaded some sierra 85 gr. HPBT with a starting load of IMR 4350 38.0 grains.
I was shocked comparing to the H@R 243 cal. barrel, the Remington chamber is tight 2.665 with this small bullet the chamber will close on and showing land marks.I set the COAL to 2.630

Heard one advertised on the radio classifieds for $400 about a month ago. The guy was selling it to buy his wife a new Weatherby. It was a 308 in VGC, shot a 0.455 group at 65 yards. Haven't had it out since. The rifles with "A" in serial number were not subject to the recall.

That Speer 105 Gr. is a Deer killing son of a gun , and not too shabby in the accuracy department either . Try them you'll be glad you did !   ;D

Update
I did a glass-bed job on it last week (front recoil lug and about 2" into the barrel) drag it to the range to day man it can shoot.
I loaded some 100 Gr core-lock Remingtons over IMR 4064 34.5 Grains
3 shots one hole group,WOW the 18 1/2" barrel can shoot
Distance around 65 yards from the bench

That bedding greatly reduced it's value.  Did you try it first?
