Welcome! See the FAQs and Help sticky, there's a link to a previous thread that addresses that directly, the Max works fine on an SB1 frame.

I'll let you know this weekend how it works. I've got some 200gr. hardcast loads from Reed's to try in my Max. ;D

Has anyone re-chambered a H & R .357 to .357 Max on the SB1 frame? I am told this frame is not strong enough

Absolutely!!  YES many people have!

You have been misinformed...

As Tim said, grab a coffee and sit a spell. he has done a lot of work combining pertinent topics all in one place for all to read and easily search. Like the Prego spaghetti sauce adds on TV... Its in there!!  ;D

I know the Maxi will work on the SB1 frame, but I keep all my centerfires on SB2s.  It's just a hang-up I have.  If I or someone else swaps a barrel, it's not a problem.  Another thought, I keep two or three SB2 frames around to make new barrel fitting easier.

10-4 on what the others have posted.  My 357 Maxi is on an SB1 with no problems.  Just to be safe, I only use published reloading data which is intended for the T/C SSPs and/or the Dan Wesson Revolvers.
