Open letter to Republicans...
« on: March 16, 2011, 07:15:14 AM »
  If you want enthusiastic support from real conservatives in the 2012 elections, don't try to "palm off" those same, tired old hacks as you have in the past.  No clowns who are in there just for having gained "seniority"..
   Here are some suggestions to put a little 'fire in the belly' of conservatives..first or second spot..any would be better than what we have...

Which one has a better understanding of economics than politics? any of them?

Any of them  that has ever ran a house hold, wrote a check or paid a bill should understand how this government needs to work.
All the economics and politics on earth dont mean squat.

All of the above waaaaaaaay before tommy franks. West and maybe Jindal. Perhaps one of the ladies but I think that Palin is better suited to commentator or an advisory position.

Good list ironglow. Like many, I'm tired of the good old boys club that has been haunting DC for too many decades.

Gary;
  You surprise me ! you wonder if any have business experience...  Does Donald Trump know anything about business, economics or real estate ?  Of course, economics is not the whole show, one should have a grasp of leadership, personnel management, foreign policy and above all...the CHARACTER to do what is right !
  But let's take a short view of each...remember, they would be running against BHO and/or Joe Biden..

  Allen West;
   22 years Army officer,after retirement , defense contractor..has character and believes in American exceptionalism and would likely bring international respect back to the oval office.

 Chris christie;
  We can witness how he is bringing NJ back from the brink. He has the personal courage to face up to the spoiled, rowdy public unions.
  In previous actions he won convictions of 130 crooked politicians from both Rep & Dem parties. Character counts !

 Tommy Franks;
  Military career..a "mustang" worked his way from enlisted ranks..shows unusual perseverance and leadership. Since retiring from military in 2003 has worked as consultant with various firms..on the board of OSI Restaurant Partners.  Doubt petty dictators would so easily laugh at or brush off him. Character & leadership..strong suits.

 Herman Cain;
   CEO ..Godfather's Pizza.. newspaper columist, radio talk show host, worked for Coca Cola and Pillsbury as business analyst.
  Believes in free enterprise and condemns the welfare/nanny state.  Believes in American exceptionalism and individual responsibility./

   ...And the ladies

  Sarah Palin ..
  Gov of one of the few United Srates which is operating well into the black.  Appreciated by the lion's share of her Alaskan constituents..  Ran successful business with her husband and Alaska gained by her being governor.

  Nikki Haley;
    Worked for FCR  corp, a large waste management organization, also worked Exotica Intl, an upscale women's clothing importer/exporter.  Treasurer, National Women's Business Assn.... chairman of N Carolina chapter of same.

  Kristi Noem;
     Having previously operated large Agricultural operation  she is now a farmer, rancher, hunting lodge owner.  Character is a strong suit

       All in all, any of these have already acquired much more business acumen than the " community organizer' has yet..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

  A couple more worth considering (IMO)..
  Marco RTubio, a rising star..may soon be ready

   ...And just to get the hopeless liberals' panties in a bunch...Michelle Malkin.  Something Washington needs; Michelle is great at exposing liars:

      Jamil HusseinMain article: Jamil Hussein controversy
Malkin was one of several bloggers who questioned the credibility and even the existence of Iraqi police Captain "Jamil Hussein" who had been used as a source by the Associated Press in over 60 stories about the Iraq war. The controversy started in November 2006 when the AP reported that six Iraqis had been burned alive as they left a mosque and that four mosques had been destroyed, citing Hussein as one of its sources. In January 2007, Malkin visited Baghdad, and stated, "the Iraqi Ministry of Interior says disputed Associated Press source Jamil Hussein does exist. At least one story he told the AP just doesn’t check out: The Sunni mosques that as Hussein claimed and AP reported as 'destroyed,' 'torched' and 'burned and blown up' are all still standing. So the credibility of every AP story relying on Jamil Hussein remains dubious."[45] Malkin has issued a correction for her denial of Capt. Hussein's existence[46] but still contests AP claims of destroyed mosques and civilians burned ali.

   I just bet Michelle wouldn't be kissing the hands of the Muslim dictators...
   Sorry though..she doesn't exactly have the "ugly germ" either..but then, she wouldn't be running as a Democrat !

+1 on Marco Rubio.    He has the character and perseverance to take on the tough issues but he has an exceptional ability to debate his thoughts powerfully without coming across as angry or condescending.    I would love to see a debate between him and Odrama.

I have read Trump and would classify him as economically ignorant on international trade, interest rates, and dollar devaluation. So I write him off. The others I have not read anything other than political excerpts.
---------------------------------------------------

Ron Paul is a master of economic understanding and could tutor Bernanke, but Bernanke won't listen. Helicopter Ben is bent on Keynesian destruction of available capital as well as our money.
----------------------------------------------------

I have heard it stated that Palin is a Billy Kristal creation. I don't know this for fact, but she does seem to be a proponent of the military industrial complex.
