Good morning to you all, My friend just inherited his dads winchester model 63 semi-auto 22 rifle. He said it shoots dime size groups at 75 yards.
I know these guns are really in demand and bring high prices but I've never owned one. Is this normal accuracy for them?
Regards,
A Winchester Model 63,
MAY, be able shoot a dime size group at 75 yards,
ONCE IN A WHILE. If the shooter and the rifle are up to the task.
It will also depend on what sights the shooter used, to shoot that outstanding group with.
If the shooter used open sights, that would be
extremely doubtful.
With the Caveat,
it may do it with a brand of ammunition the rifle really likes,
ONCE IN A WHILE. But, not with
ALL brands of 22 LR ammunition. And, with a shooter who really knows what he is doing.
I wouldn't say your friend is stretching the truth, but I have serious doubts about his veracity. I would ask the shooter, in a friendly way, to prove it, while I watched.
Why do I know this? I have two Winchester Model 63 rifles.
