Old style Marlin 60 feed issue
« on: March 14, 2011, 02:51:13 PM »
I just purchased an older Marlin/Glenfield 60 circa 1977.
I took it apart and cleaned it up and fed a few rounds through it just cycling the action.
I noticed that when I was releasing the bolt slowly the round would sort of eject,if I just released the bolt quickly, the round chambered.
Is this normal,or do I need a new feed ramp,or??

Any thoughts are welcome.
Going to the range tommorow, hopefully.

Mine has done the same thing as long as I can remember. Have owned it for almost 35 years. Functions fine unless you ease the bolt forward then the round misses the chamber!

Remember these guns were made to feed with the bolt at speed. Slow feeding of any autoloader is usually an exercise in frustation. Some will the Marling M60 is not a good candidate for that honor. If the rifle feeds when fireed and when the bolt is briskly operated it is functioning just fine.
