I been using them for 2 yrs now, very stout trap, only thing i do is touch up the dog end with a file and make sure the swivel rivets are tite closed and added another mid-swivel..Caught a yote in a cubby set for coon last fall, fought it hard but never did nothing to the trap,

There has been some problems with the one and half Bridgers.   I  would stay away from them.  Dont know if the factory fixed problem on newer ones.  Problem is you dont know what batch the trap supplier has in stock and if it has the problems.  Maybe someone else reading this might have an input.

Frank, the Montana #1 1/2s are like the old Montgomeries.

Tom from what I can see..Montana make 2 types of 1.5's..The long liner and the special.I found very little discription on these traps so far.

I'm looking for a fox trap that will hold a yote if need be.Also double for coon/mink.My 1.5 monties have #2 music wire springs on them.It makes the pan tension to much for a good mink trap IMO.

 Thanks.

When did MTP buy out Bridger? I thought Terry Montgomery owned Bridger?

Montana Special 1.5: an excellent land trap, perhaps the king of stock 1.5s in construction. Solid, well built, rounded jaws. If fox were my #1 target, I'd use nothing but.  I had problems in the water w/coon- due, IMO, to the rounded jaws.

Montana Longliner 1.5: Very similar to the Dukes in price, looks and efficiency. Duke 1.5s are my first choice in an overall 1.5 for both land and water- if not for the Dukes I'd use more of these without hesitation.
