remington 721
« on: March 05, 2011, 02:05:28 PM »
I have a chance to buy a remington model 721 .30-06 from a guy at work.  I wont see it till tomorrow but he says that its in nice condition.  It has a ventilated recoil pad on it and a simmons scope is mounted on it.
Did these come drilled and tapped for scope mounts and did the have recoil pads attached to them?  I want it to be as original as possible and dont want to pay too much for something that has been altered.
  Thanks,
   Steve

The reciever would have been tapped and threaded from the factory, I dought the recoil pad is factory, I believe they had a steel butt plate, but, in them days EVERBODY ADDED recoil pads, unless you are a collector it really dosent matter.     ed
