Since I have been messing about within the works I thought it smart to address the 'little things' I had noted in preliminary test firing. This is another place that a small notebook is handy, you can note things at range sessions as you go and not have to try to remember everything later.
My trigger, though a tad heavy, was not bad and broke pretty cleanly, but did have a little of a 'gritty' feel in the take up. With the trigger assembly removed, and a slave pin holding all the bits in place I could feel the 'gritty' as I pulled the trigger back. This eliminates the hammer notch/sear as the culprit!
Turns out the trigger return spring has rough ends, one which rides on the trigger and does not just press, but slides as the trigger rotates.
I chose to dress both ends of the coil spring with my Dremel so I did not have to take care which end goes where. A dab of lube upon the contact surface and all was well.
If you ever have occassion to drop your trigger group give this some attention; well worth it.
