Either one will work fine. I used the Trophy for many years. Had the elite as well. Save your money and just use the trophy.

I agree with Redhawk. Can't go wrong with the Trophy. Had them on 4 of my 6 Contender barrels.

I've got one elite and five of the trophies, all mounted on contenders.  The elite is a firefly and is OK, but I would replace it with a trophy in a heartbeat!

i would have to guess that theres a big differnce in internal quality. ive had two trophys basicaly fall apart. One had the objective lense fall out on the shooting bench and one had the windage and elevation ajustments seize up solid. Ive NEVER had a lick of problems out of my elites. They also have much better glass in the elite. Now im talking rilfe scopes here. I did have one trophy handgun scope and it seemed to hold up but i didnt have it long enough to really find out.

The Elite is a great scope for hunting and competition and the Trophy is great for hunting. The Elite gives alot more eye relief and the udjustments are more precise. I do not like the Elites with the Firefly reticle.  It all depends on what you plan on doing with it. If just for hunting, I would not waste the money on an Elite.

While pricing these scopes I discovered a 2-6 Trophy and a 2-6 Trophy XLT with a $50 price difference. Anyone know what the difference is ?

I too noticed that the Trophy XLT recently appeared in the market place and looks like the older one has dropped from production. From just the raw specs published it looks like some very minor differences in measurements and the XLT having less adjustment range than the original. Also, the constant eye relief that endeared the original to the hearts of many has changed on the new version making it like its marketplace competitors. I may be in error on this as I haven't handled an XLT yet. IF I'm correct and want the constant eye relief, its looking like their 3200 Elite is the only one remaining in their lineup.
