Sorry, but ran into a +98% Model 088 in 20 gauge for a C-note and, well, you know the rest.  :'(

Was wondering now if I could get a ML and .357 barrel fitted for it, or is Remington refusing to work on these?

H&R wil only fit barrels(repair/service also) to frames made 1987 and later, those with two letter serial number prefixes starting with N or H, the M88 was made before 1987 by H&R Inc.
