My contender is on the way!!!!!

 I finally joined the club.  SN# 82xxx, .357 magnum / 10" octogon barrel.  I should have it by this time next week, and can't wait to take it out.  I'll be adding a .41 mag and 22LR as soon as possible.

The Contender you show appears to be the original 1967 configuration. The s/n is a 1978. It sounds as if you may already have the fever. You will need to have a different grip when you get into heavy recoil.

I always suggest the 10inch [or 14] .223 barrel, it is the funnest. I dont know if there is a .223 octagon?

I don't think there are many Octagon .223's but I love my 10 inch octagon Hornet.   Absolutely no recoil or flash and it will hit anything to 100 yards  (with scope).  If you want something to make you grin a 10 inch octagon in .45 colt (loaded hot) will wake you up!

And yes an octagon .22LR is a must have!  Much lighter than a bull barrel.

I had a octagon 223 in the early 80's with a Thompson 4x on it.  I have a S-14 in 223 with a 2.5-8x on it now.  Lots of fun!
