woo-hoo!
« on: February 07, 2011, 02:34:11 PM »
got an e-mail from remington today.  sent my receiver to them on 1/7 to get an '06 barrel installed.  it's on the way back.  should be here thursday 2/10.  of course, we have a big snowstorm forecast here in okla on wednesday.  oh well, it will get here when it gets here.  supposed to be warm next weekend so i may get a chance to try it.

30-06, Oh, Oh, Oh, good choice!  With a 165gr bullet in front of Reloader-22 you will be good for Coyotes, Hogs, and Deer. Even Antalope if you live or go out west.  With the 180gr you will be set up for Elk, Moose, or Bears.  110 to 125gr works well for ground hogs, problem is they explode.  Nothing but solids work for Foxes, then don't hit a major bone.  Foxes are just too delicate for the 06, they get messy.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Congrats and enjoy.
I think I'll make the call to a live person tomorrow in Remington customer service.
It's been over a week since the status of my order went to "There is no data to display"
This after almost a week of status reading "Your order has been received"  -g

Called CS earlier this morning. I asked about my order that was showing "No Data to Display".
CS rep said your order is done and just sitting and waiting for a fax from your FFL.
Great, I was wondering how long they were going to hold it without contacting me or saying anything! The same receiver I purchased from a fellow GB member and drosed a few months ago needs to go through the same process and cost me another $65.
I was under the impression they would send the receiver and barrels back to me in seperate packages? California is just ticking me off. Its such a nanny state.
On a side note after my rant, I got my 35Rem and gray lam  :D

Ok, so my handi with the new 30-06 barrel hit town last thursday but because of all the snow we've had they didn't deliver it.  So I was shoveling the front walk friday after work and the brown truck stopped and delivered a small box, not my handi.  Checked again today and it was out for delivery by the end of the day.  Well it's 8:20pm here and I'm not sure about UPS's definition of "end of day".  What can brown do for me......nothing yet!!!

Well early last week the big brown truck finally brought my 30-36 handi.  Had to wait till yesterday to shoot it.  Put my old K4 weaver on it and whipped out some ammo using some 165 speers and 748 that I had around.  Just picked a load in the middle of the load book.  Hit real close at 50 yds so in spite of the breezy conditions (about 20 mph with gusts) I tried it at 100 yds.  it shot a 2" group which isn't target accuracy but definitely shows potential.  Going to put some more down the barrel, clean it real good and begin working up loads.
