Just got a mannlicher forend and stock from GSI.  Now I need to fit it.  Anyone got any tips on doing this?  Figure on bedding back of the lug screw and free float to the tip.  Maybe I need a barrel band or pressure pad at the tip?  All comments welcome.

Went with GSI set finally based on AtlLaw's stock set earlier on.

Here's picture of raw wood before any work.  Weaver K4 on NEF factory mount with cheap low rings.  Remington sights I think. This is a work in progress... got the breech and 30-30AI barrel off the forum last fall.

To aviod a heavy mil-look to a Mannlicker it needs to come forward fron the action a bit thick, then the botton line need to go into a gentle reverse curve to the foretip.
The Ruger Mannlicker isnt bad, the Sako a bit to much curve to my eye.
Look at some of the pics in old Gun Digests of the custom guns and the factory pics in the new gun section to get a sense of it.
