was standing in waist deep water setting 330s at the bottom of slides after setting 3 i came to the conclusion that beaver trapping is a lot harder than fox trapping.i have 5 330s and 1 750 out now and 14 fox sets.

Fishdaddy,

I've spent most of my seasons trapping beaver. Now that my son has the trapping bug, we're teaming up on em!
I Trap And I Hunt. Therefore I AM!

I make it easier, I use my 330s and make castor mounds. Trapped a few nice winter beaver that way this last week.

i put a little castor on a stick in the slide..and block the trap off good with sticks why are castor mounds eaiser you still got to block them in..where im trapping the banks are strait up and down almost .and i found a bank den the hard way i broke thru it.

Castor Mounds allow me to catch the beaver where I want--I dictate to them, where I am going to catch them .
By setting runs, slides and dens--the beaver is dictating to you, where you must make a set to catch them.
 I prefer to be a dictator--not one being dictated to---by a beaver.

 Yes.
I make the majority of my mounds at the waters edge. While I have caught beaver at teir mounds, I have found that making my own is the best way to go.
