What kind of velocities are you getting an Encore .223?
« on: December 15, 2003, 01:30:55 PM »
I'm thinking about getting a .223 barrel for my Encore and I'm wondering what kind of velocities you are all getting from a 15" barrel, although I'm planning on getting a 16 1/4" barrel so it can be a carbine as well.  My target weight bullets are 30 gr., 35gr, and 40 gr., how fast can I run them up SAFELY!
Thanks for the info.

Ain't got a .223 Encore bbl but my AR/15 with 15 " bbl clocks around 2,950 fps with 62 gr ss109. If you want speed though go for a .22/250. I have one in 15" and I've pushed out 55gr @3,400 fps with minimal pressure signs.
