THOUGHT ------But I was wrong, that I could get the boat in the water Monday and set some rat traps.
  the creek was froze from bank to bank and that was at high tide.
 Now is snow'n they say about 6". No way is the ice gona leave for a week or more.
I checked the weather at my "Turtle Camp" in Chocowinity NC.No sence go'n down there eather.

I feel your pain. I have not been able to get on the river since Dec 15th. thank goodness for Coyote trapping, or I would be very very much house happy. lol

Newt get off yr but and drag an otter sled  and set traps  below the ice..... better than sitting in house waiting for orders to come in.  Dont know if your ice  is thick enough but im sure in areas you could whack a few   .  The extended forecast for you sounds like the second ice age coming.... maybe you could rent those Ice Age movies and sit at home and wait for supply orders to come in and watch the Ice Age movies.   Or come to WI and flesh bvr and muskrats for me while i go and chop some more out of the ICE!

Our open water is shrinking fast around here as well, but still got the foot traps and snares going after the K-9's. Picked up two decent coyotes out of snares I set the other day. I think I have snared just about as many coyotes as I have in foot traps. Thank goodness for waxed dirt, calcium cloride and snares. Newt you ought to be out there piling up that fur, season will be over before you know it.

RdFx. Cant do that with Brackish water ice. Than add a 4 1/2 foot tide

Okay, Newt didnt think of that.... but how far inland would you have to go to get away from tide and  brackish water ?  Thats the pits, all that fur and cant access it.... well guess theres next year.  Did good at Fur Harvestors after looking at my account.... no coon sold though
