Too cold in South Jersey
« on: January 06, 2011, 02:42:53 AM »
Last month the weather man said it would warm up to adverage temp's this mouth here in South Jersey. I did'nt say that those adverage temps were for Anchorage Alaska.
I checked the 10 day report. Seen that there is no break on the way. So I told Ol'Grizzly Sal. That I'm gona head down to the "Turtle Camp" in Chocowinity,North Carolina. She said "PILE'M UP".I went back out in the shop where the puter is. Checked the weather down there. And it's almost as cold.Mind you I get my water comes from a garden hose from the house next door. It lays on the grass. Very few days in the past has it froze at night, while I have been there in trap'n season.

Warming up here in WI., Newt its zero now.  Heck those turtles arent going to move much if temp is that cool down in Chocowinity!!  Ive caught snappers in my 330s under ice in bvr den runs. Dont know why they were moving.  You are going to have to make a fire  on the river or pond bank to warm up the water!!!!  Remember those old muscles  stiffen up real quick in that cold water..... but i know i dont have to tell you that from your past experiences.   Take care.
