MGM and Bullberry will make you one. I always wanted one but never had one made because of the warnings of pressures too high for a break open action.
Let me know if you get one and how it is---I will be jealous!! LOL

Pressure issues with 257 Weatherby: T/C factory barrels in 416 Rigby, 300 Win Mag and 375 H&H are offered so the pressure issue must be somewhat addressed.

Saltydog
That is what I thought also BUT the Weatherby magnums and the short mags have higher pressures than those other calibers.
I am not a gunsmith or Physics professor BUT I decided against it when T/C stated it could be dangerous.
I would of loved a few Weatherby barrels for my Encore BUT................................................

Yes they will "handle" it, but I think with any break open you will get the most accurate set-up with a smaller round.
Yes, it's pretty stout.
You will not make peace with the Bluecoats, you are free to go.

If Match Grade Machine offers a 257 Weatherby barrel, I wouldn't be afraid to shoot it.  As for recoil, it's probably no worse than a 300 Win. Mag.  Any accuracy issue would be more from flinching than from some inherent problem with the cartridge.

I talked with the guys from MGM at a gun show and asked why they don't offer 270 wsm? They explained the only issue they have with the short mags are pressure! They said the Encore frame can handle it but they claim back when they were Virgin Valley (I THINK) the few short mags they produced due to high pressure caused a flex in the action. This created not so favorable grouping which gives there barrels a bad name so they no longer offer the high pressure short mags. That being said they are great guys and did offer to make one as long as I understand it may or may not group well. I decided against it MGM are great guys to deal with maybe one day when I have the money to gamble I'll go for it.
