New (to me) Marlin 1895
« on: December 21, 2010, 05:57:03 AM »
I had one of these back in the mid seventys when I lived in Montana. I loved that rifle but let it get away and always thought I'd like to get another one. It was a great rifle, I've had a couple of 86 Winchesters, loved them too but I always missed the 95 Marlin. Good things do sometimes come to those who wait. Last week I found another one in great condition:

SWEET!
I really like the slimmer forend and also the straight grip stock!
I thought it was from the mid seventies judging by the forend, I've got a '77 336A with a 24" barrel & 2/3 mag tube that I had rechambered to 30-30 Ackley Improved.
I much prefer the older guns!

GOOD SHOOTING!

PS, I just noticed you're new around here, welcome aboard!

;) Nice rifle... ;D Bought and newer mod. 95 last winter in Billings...very clean and pretty accurate...I wanted it for my trailer and pickup when spending time camping in grizzly country..but it has proved to be pretty handy for deer hunting also...good shooting..
