I just took my new M97 .44 Special out to the range today; had a 50 rd box of Buffalo bore 255gr SWC Keith to inaugurate my new revolver. Its a wonderful revolver and I'm glad I had chosen it over a .45 Colt. Overall fit and finish is top notch.

I wanted to sight it in off the bench so that I could get the sights on target. It shot well enough at 25yds but not spectacular; perhaps because of me either flinching or because my rest was not really ideal. Either way I got my sights aligned properly and on target.

To give my hand a rest I shot a box of 22 magnums out of my M97 .22/22mag for awhile. Had a few failures to fire with my 22 mag but I'm pretty sure it was ammo related (CCI 22 mag 40gr solds).

Went back to my .44 special and shot my last 4 shots off-hand at 25 yds. I almost didn't give the target a second look at as I figured off-hand at 25 yds... I happen to take a quick glance though my spotting scope as I was packing up my gear and was quite shocked. I guess my M97 likes shooting off-hand vs the bench

Have to also say that this Buffalo Bore ammo is pretty good stuff

The .44 Special is quite special.
