Ive seen these pellets at wall mart recently. they just started carrying them. Anyone know how good these are.Would they work well for hunting
because my brother got a crossman 664gt for his birthday it has about
675 fps power and would it do any damage with these.

Which different Beeman pellets is Wal-Mart carrying? Also the Crosman 664 velocity rating of 675 is with B-B's not pellets. He will get around 600 fps. with the lightest pellets he can find. Word of advice about the 664, don't use B-B's in it. They are of a slightly smaller diameter than the .177 pellets(.170 I believe). If you do the B-B's will wreak havoc with the rifling in the barrel. Stick with Crosman Copperhead pellets in either the doomed or wad-cutter design and he should have no problems. Lawdog

i have those beeman gold coated hollowpoints. Every animal ive ever shot was with one of those pellets. They expand...sometimes explode on impact with something hard, or soft for that matter. I havent done any accuracy tests with them yet with my sight out to any apreciable distance, but with open sights i nailed a few squirrils and rabbit.

they just recently came out with these because they have the beeman
silver bear pellet gun there. there recomended on the box. the only other pellets they have there is copper head pellets. also they just opend up a sportsmans whear house in ankeny. its a smaller version of cabella's. they have crow magnums there and will those work in lower fps guns,
because i know those work relly well in 1000 fps guns.

I'm not sure what pellets you're talking about, but I've tried the beeman gold hollow points(new at my Wal-mart location) in my Crosman 2100, which probably performs around 600fps and they do not expand at that velocity at 25 yds. I get more deformation and accuracy out of max speeds. I'm not going to experiment anymore until after the first of the year when I pick up a Talon SS.

As a GENERAL rule, lower powered air guns do better with lighter pellets. I've had good results with Gamo Hunter, Beeman Laser, and Beeman Silver Bear .177 pellets in lower powered air guns.

I've got a vintage Crosman 160 coming and need some pellets is it a good rule of thumb to go with lighter pellets as it's way lower powered than the modern springer. Just plinking so accuracy is more important than power.

No matter what you shoot them in...you're just going to have to try different ones until you find what works best in YOUR GUN.There are no set rules.Every gun is different...even airguns.

I know some guns don't like the Raptors, but my old Crosman 66 shoot's OK. I'll try a couple of brands If any are horrible maybe I can find some one who can use them

Stay away from super light alloy pellets in springer guns, you may wreck the piston and or compression chamber. 750 fps seems to be the dividing line for shooting pellets heavier than standard. In CO2, and PCP pellet wt doesn't matter as much, just shoot what's accurate. As for Beeman Pellets, there are too many variations and different models give any general comments. Check out pyramidair.com for a good list of what's available and all the brands. Besides with them if you buy any three boxes/tins/pkgs you get a fourth (of your choosing) free.
