malware? infection?
« on: October 26, 2010, 02:54:35 PM »
I dont know, or understand enough of this computer stuff (and honestly do not want to go through a learning curve to know how to analize it). I read the 'maleware' in announcements and got the gist, I think, but it makes me question: Are these ever so frequent pop-ups interrupting my session here (several times per 1/2hr.) an indication that my rig is infected. BTW, my I-net provider has Norton, I guess, and we used to have our own on here before I-net (should still be there?).

If there is somewhere else this should be posted please move it there.

Not if you're referring to the John Deere and Chevy ads, those provide income for the site, not as much as was hoped for, but we're under contract to maintain them thru the end of the year, then they'll be gone. If they're something else, your PC may be infected from the hack over the weekend, see the Forum Support forum for more info.
