handi grip stock vs choate varmint stock
«

i'm looking for a synthetic pistol grip stock for my 30-06 handi. i know the choate varmint is a proven performer, but i would like to hear what people are saying about the new handi grip stock. to me it looks like the comb is a little low for the the elevated scopes on handi rifles? anyone have any opinions/experiences with the handi grip.
Thanks Zack

I have one Handi-Grip right now, it is a .22-250 with a 4-12x40 scope. The comb on the stock looks very deceiving, I was worried at first that it would be too low, but it is not. The cheek weld for me is perfect with the above set-up.

I like mine, works fine with a scope from the bench, it's a lot lighter than the Varmint stock and has a much better recoil pad, but the Varmint is length adjustable if needed. Mac wrote a very nice report on the Handi-grip.

Anybody got a part number? Are they available as an accessory yet from H&R?

They're listed on the retail parts page in the FAQs.

I like the handi grip better than the choate varmint stock.
