Good Morning To All,
   I have a chance to pick up a very gently used Survivor model,
in cal 308, with a 3 to 9 power scope installed for $260.00.
  Was wondering what the general opinion of this model is.

I think the survivor has the Bull barrel right? It's a barrel I'd like to have. ;D

I personally don't like the survivor plastic stock, but that's easy to change.
 Let's see, ruff cost new 229.. plus tax and or shipping/FFL fees. So the extra 30 you would pay would be for the glass,,gently used can mean that it's just broke in,, ;D

Oh, and welcome to GBO's,,you've found the premiere site on the web for Handi rifles + the bonus of lot's of other great forum's tossed in,, all for the same price... :D

Welcome back Charlie! For a price comparison, Bud's has em for $269 shipped, lots of fellas here like the Survivor 308, I'm not fond of the Survivor stock either, but as Necchi said, that's an easy fix, all H&R single shot stocks will fit, it does have a bull barrel, mine is in a camo laminated stock set and shoots the 168gr TSX match w/Varget into an inch at 100yds.

BTW, how's that Talo shooting?

Hello Tim,
   I have not had a chance to shoot it yet.
I've been babysitting my 3 year old Grandson and he has
kept me quite busy

I'm looking for that time to be here.
  His mom is doing her second tour overseas.
She is a 35L-30 in the U.S. Army and is a SSG.
  She has 6 years in and is a confirmed lifer.
And you bet I am darned proud of her.
