223 and tigkt forestock
« on: May 11, 2010, 01:14:15 PM »
I just got a 223 and I find that the fore stock is tight against the barrel with no dollar bill clearance
The 10/22 guys shim the stock away from the barrel with a O ring.
What are your suggestions, shims? rat tail file?  other

Thanks

There are numerous options listed in the FAQs, start there and take you pick.  ;)

I would shoot it first. All rifles are one of a kind.Look at the FAQ's there is a ton of good info about accurizing.  I do use a "o" ring  for most of the ones I have had.     Doug

I have purchased 2 new in the last few months and all have had VERY tight forends, even the BC stocks I ordered fit VERY tight. Very stiff when opening etc.
This may come up more often in the future.

I have yet to mess with mine, but I have no doubt itll be an easy fix

Good luck with your handi!!!
