Affordable and double rifle - two terms that up until now have been mutually exclusive. But that's exactly what we have here. The Sabatti basic is a no-frills double rifle that's well constructed, well finished and well regulated. Just the thing for casual shooting or for hunting many of the largest/meanest animals in the US. They're regulated using Hornady's LeverEvolution 300-grain ammunition in the .45-70 and Norma 286-grain ammo in the 9.3 x 74R, so potent ammunition is readily available for these. Quantities are limited (especially the 9.3 x 74R), but more will be arriving soon. Contact your nearest Gun Library to check availability.

I'm told they were a spl. order that was then later not bought, so they are selling them off.  I see several folks in Canada are buying them, and they are spec'd a bit different over there, plus you don't have to get them from Cabela's.

I was in JJ Perodeau's shop not long ago, and his answer to whether they were solid DR's was, "come back and ask me again AFTER several of them have several thousand rounds through them".  (he was talking about bigger cartridges though)

They're supposed to be coming in calibers up to 500 NE. there are several 450's out already. BUT they weight less than 10 pounds so it'll hurt on both ends. The reports so far sound good but time will tell if they are a silk purse or a sow's ear.
