I have a blued Browning Buckmark that I bought new in 2006, I like to shoot it and it has seen use along with my Ruger Mk. 3. I clean both guns when done, although the barrels are only done every now and then. I use some grease and oil in the chamber and slide area.
The last time I shot it I noticed 3 impact marks under the sight base unit. Two marks on the area near the ejection, and one in the middle of the unit. I cannot understand what could be causing this, unless it came that way from the factory? The impacts have a metallic color from the exposure of the metal. One of the 3 impacts, I could maybe understand the spent cartridge causing this, the middle one perhaps from the firing mechanism, but the other one does not have anything that could get at it. I did find the rear base screw to be a little loose, tightened it up.
The Browning Buckmark is a popular gun, has anyone noticed any impacts under the sight base?
Thanks.
