Still a lot of work to do and a matching forearm to make. I've made several grip sets over the years but never a stock. This build will be for my grandson Bubby who when at a responsible age will be handed over to him. Not sure on a barrel at this time but thinking about a 24 to 26" MGM octagon in 30-30Win. Not your typical looking Tender stock but it does have a very good feel to it.

Bubby likes it so far.

Dang that looks nice!

I would put a short solid "English" style recoil pad because I don't like the looks of the "shotgun" style recoil pads, but that's a matter of taste.

Very fine, very fine!

The Pachy is pretty good at soaking recoil. And being as this build is for a youth and the pad was laying around taking up space and a Limbsaver would cost me about $21.00 plus dollars I thought this a good choice!

Looks really good.  I'm not a fan of stocks with that arched look, but I know that it can help for recoil against the face.  I've had several CZ rifles with that "Roman nose", one was a 375H&H and it would just fall away from the face.  The boy has a look on his face that just says he can't wait to go shooting.  Post a few pics when you done!
