Health Care vs. Firearms
« on: March 20, 2010, 07:27:14 PM »
When healthcare passes do you think that part of the provisions may be ,because they consider guns hazardous to our health like smoking and greasy cheesburgers, that they would regulate them out of existance rather than using the UN or assault weapons ban legislation to do it? Thoughts? Steve

It is still routine for a pediatrician to ask if there are guns in the home. So it seems like the research is still going on to try and prove that gun ownership is dangerous to children's health.

Well, togay is the day!  Will Healthcare pass and the beginning of...............?  Gun control will be part of Healthcare, since the government hasn't been able to do so in a constitutional way.

More anti gun laws will be just one issue of many, government will have control over our lives, if they get their foot in the door on health care. If this passes, you can kiss what is left of our Republic goodbye. I think they have enough people dumbed down by now from the education system they have had in place, that the majority is willing to agree on anything as long as our dictators say its best for the masses. Won't life be grand when government becomes the giver of everything?

I just wonder at what point the takers will out number the givers.

They will tout the implementation of stricter gun control laws as a means of reducing health care costs, due to the reduction in violent crime that would be the result of additional restrictions on firearms ownership.

They will attempt to make their case by presenting statistics showing that gun violence causes health care resources to be spent in ways that could be better utilized in other areas.

Yep, they will take good care of us! And what do ya wanna bet that as soon as they "get all the guns" Violent crime will cease!  Why do we resist!

If they can push the "Health Care" bill through, they can do anything they want to.

Once health-care passes the precedent to go against the people for the 'greater good' will have already been set.  Guns will most definitely be on the agenda, as they are the ONLY thing between us and them.  They will use ANY angle they can to get them.  The great Constitution that has been our advocate for centuries is practically null and void at this time.

firearms is a huge industry. attempts to ban arms would really stab another hole in the economy. hunting limited to archery, no target shooting sports, no gun/skeet clubs, terrible for economy. is that being publisized to the public?

I am probaly off base here but I believe the precedent was already set when the bailout was forced "for the greater good" I am not computer literate so I couldnt find the numbers but it seems like there was a lot of opposition to the bailout from the people and it was passed anyway. I love my country and have supported it and will continue to support it. I cant explain the feelings that I have when I think what has happened in the last year.............it just aint good. I am still amazed that the people put a terrorist in our white house that wont even salute the warriors that are returning under a flag. That is ONE of my biggest problems with him

History:  The 1994 AWB passed the house by one vote.  At the last minute the retiring Republican minority leader, Michels, voted for the AWB.  76 house Democrats voted against the 1994 AWB and 38 Republicans voted for it.

The Democrats in the house will not touch gun control this year.  The Democrats in the house are well aware of the huge losses that they took after they passed the Brady bill and the AWB  1994.  Last year 65 pro-gun Democrat house members wrote letters to the Obama administration telling them to lay off gun control.

Unlike the house, the senate can be counted on to pass any kind of gun control.  In 2004 the senate voted to extend the AWB.  10 of those fine "conservative" Republican senators voted in favor of extending the AWB.  BTW:  Harry Reid voted against it.

If the Democrats are for it, then the Republicans are against it, and vise-versa. You can reverse the advocacy for any issue, and the Republicans will be for it, and the Democrats will be against it. It is the game that is played, and will continue to be played, back and forth, and over and over. Little by little, and sometimes not so little, Liberty slips away.

I think you will do well to keep a closer eye on the IRS, as they will be in charge of this deal, and they will be expanding to the tune of several thousand more agents according to the news.

This according to LewRockwell.com
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.

I'm wondering what it would take to generate a 10 million armed-man march on Washington D.C.  Would it be reported on the lame-steam news?  Would it be recognized by the politicos who inhabit that black hole?  Would the march turn violent and clean the place out?

Hey, a guy can daydream a little.
