Thread protector
« on: March 13, 2010, 10:41:22 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get a 1/2x32 thread protector that is about 1/2" long and the diameter of a handi barrel (about .662" on mine)?  I have a .308 handi barrel that the previous owner had a muzzle break on, but with the brake it was LOUD.  I took the break off, but don't want to remove the section with the threads, as it shoots good right now.  Been looking around the net, but have not been able to find one yet.  I could use it as is, but hate to have the threads exposed.

I had my smith make me covers for mine... Maybe a local smith could do the same for you?

You could put a flash suppressor on it, That would protect the threads and not increase the noise. 8)
