« on: March 12, 2010, 05:19:54 AM »
What is a good price for a Marlin 336 35 Rem lever with a syntethic stock in very good condition?  I have the oppurtunity to buy a nice used one in very good condition with rings.  No scope.  Seller is asking around $350.

That sounds about right. I bought a new one with the walnut checkered stock at a gun show no base or rings and no box or paptrwork never shot for 325.00 in our area the 300 to 400 is about what they bring at gun shows but I do see that most of the 336 have jumped a little in price.

IF you can find one around here, yer lookin at 350 and up.  They don't show up very often around here, everyone that has one tends to hang on to em.  DP

I saw two of them last weekend in a Cabela's store in Wisconsin.  One was well used at marked $399.  The other looked like new and was $429.  The new one was crossbolt safety.

35 rem doesn't show up much here in southeastern Wisconsin.  30-30 is far more common.

BTW, these were both blue/walnut.

I bought one last year  ???  in a pawn shop with original wood and some "ugly" metal for $265 out the door, if I remember right.  I thought I was gonna throw it in the back seat of the truck and further abuse it. but after shooting it in, and getting to know it I fell in love and it has a place of respect in my favorites area now!

So the price seems good to me! Sorry for the divergence. I get sentimental about my rifles at times.

It would be worth more with the wood stock.  I'd offer $275.00.
