Prices Of M/G 30A
« on: March 09, 2010, 05:44:52 PM »
Can anyone explain to me WHY the Marlin 30A is as much or more than the 336 in the same shape. Especially when sold new the 30A  was $50 or more cheaper than 336!!

I can't explain it but I'd much rather have the 336 myself.  I love the Glenfield 30 but the Marlin/Glenfield 30A has a barrel band instead of a nosecap so you may as well get a 336 which has a walnut stock.

I am partial to the 30AS over the 336. I like the meatier fore end and love the barrel band, but that is just me. If I want the thin fore end that day, I grab the Winchester M94.

My Marlins with nosecaps tend to be very accurate and that's why I like them.

The last 8 i have seen were $299 or more whether they had a scope or not. The one was banged up and bubba'ed and they still wanted $249 for it.  Go figure!!
