new guy questions here.....
« on: February 27, 2010, 06:00:55 PM »
just picked up a .25-06 handi rifle today.  i have done some reading on here, and this round seems to be pretty versatile.  am i correct??  another question is, how easy is it to interchange barrels, or can you at all?  i also purchased a 3x9-40 scope for it.  mounting the scope i ran into a problem with scope hitting hamer and hitting the scope mounting rail.  do i need to purchase taller rings for clearance or a different style rail?  i am pretty excited about gettin it put together to do some shootin.  this site is great, and full of knowledge.  oh,, before i forget, how do you tell the difference between a sb1 or sb2.  i have 2 letters in the ser #. they are hx.  thanks, brian

Greetings!

The 25-06 is very versatile for my needs, everything from varmint to whitetail needs are well covered. I really like the cartridge because it is flat shooting with pretty descent velocity. I've never used it out "West", but a few of my friends have with great results.
