The FAQ's are priceless, I spent hour's/day's going through them and have it on my Fav bar for continued referal. And I still ask stupid questions!

Some of the stuff is such common knowledge to many of the experianced members that it's tuff for'm to remember that they at one time didn't know the answer either, while other of it can be full of tech and/or what we use as common terms to describe an issue, that it's hard to grasp for a newbie until they get hands on.
Another thing to keep in mind is there are alot of guy's out there that just aren't "tinker'ers". Specialy' when it comes to gun's. Some would no more take a file or stone to a barrel or use a pin punch and hammer, than try to be a Lion Trainer after reading just one book. Everybody has a different level of experiance as well as available tools and the conifidence to use'm.
The vast amount of info in the faq's alone is daunting, and even with control F it's a learning curve.
A basic test, would be to simply LOOK to see that the FAQ's are  ^^UP THERE^^!  ::)

Kinda like having to read the disclaimer and clicking a link before seeing load data at a few powder/bullet site's.

I posted later that it was ment to be a joke,  ;D  those regular here would recognize but it was posted into the great unknown as sometimes happens. I am one of the ones that ask questions before figureing what the FAQs and stikies are about. Once again thanks everybody. Keep it safe. eddie

CRS has become a lot closer friend to me than I like. :(  Sometimes I think I remember, but I don't know from where. ???  I just like to think my mind is a file cabnet that is so full, the stuff is falling out and getting lost. ::)  I haven't seen to many dumb questions here, (maybe a dumb answer or 2) ;D, we all can learn somethin from many of the questions.  I still can't use the search or post pics, so I have to go thru the FAQ's often but may ask something anyway.  I've learned alot here and hope I've helped others, not just spouted off.  'Sides, Tim likes to use his fancy "Check the FAQ's" sign. ;D  DP

+1 sort of I guess on the CRS. The FAQs are a great reference and learning tool. I personally don't have the patience to sit down and read the whole thing, but I refrence it often and if i still don't quite understand something I don't hestate to ask for clarification.

The FAQ and or the Stickies are great in all the forums.

One day I will learn how to use the Book Mark option that Matt setup for us.

In the mean time, I save a lot of revelent (to myself) info as Microsoft Word documents.

They are in, umm...they live at, aaa...they are saved in, yes this is true...umm MY Documents ;D

The FAQ's are a great source of information.  This is true.  But I hope they don't become a crutch, or an easy brush-off.  Over on one of the boating forums where I spent a lot of time, one fellow showed up 3-4 years ago and has passed everyone in posts.  I went over and checked - he's posting close to 1000 posts per month.  But.....a very high percentage of his posts are one-liners "get a manual" or "it's in the manual" or "read the manual" because he really can't answer most of the questions.  I wouldn't want to see this forum get like that, and so far it hasn't.

Carry on.

The FAQ list is a priceless wealth of knowledge. When we broke from the old H+R/NEF Talk there was a lot of information left there. They allowed us a short time to get any info off of the old site and we all scrambled to try and copy what we could. A lot of information may have been lost, but I believe there is even more that has been accumulated in the FAQ here. Having the accumulated knowledge and experience of all those here listed in the FAQ is a great help to all. There isn't a one of us born with this knowledge and many of us started here by asking simple questions. Many times I have to give Tim credit for his patience and wish I had a nickle for every time he's been asked if a rifle barrel could go on a shotgun receiver. Thankfully Tim and people like him are here to help those new to Handi-Rifles.
