rate of twist for .358 win
« on: March 24, 2010, 05:20:27 PM »
I just sent my .243 varmit barrel to Wayne York to have it rebored to .358 win.
What would be a good rate of twist for this caliber?

1 in 12 will cover all bullet weights.

I'd seriously consider a 1-14 twist.

Sometimes I've seen a 1-16 twist recommended for the .35 Whelen or .358 Win.

But you could wait to talk to your gunsmith and ask his opinion too!  Just a suggestion.   8)

Depends on bullet weight/length, Lilja's twist chart should help ya decide.
