It wasnt a Handi, but when I post here, this is where I hang out, so I thought Id let you all know

Anyway, the farmer who's land I hunt during season called me, he had a kill permit for crop damage and wanted some deer killed. I had sat in the box blind for about 1 1/2 hours, when, in about 30 seconds, 15-20 deer come piling into the field. About 150 yards away, I shot a HUGE doe, 170 lbs. She ran about 60 yards, piled up, and I got excited, shot again, flat missed. The deer run back into the woods, and about a minute later, a 100 lb yearling buck bounded out of the woods, 80 yards broadside, I shot him, and he dropped after a short 40 yard run. I used a Savage 110 .243 loaded with cheapie Winchester PowerPoints. They did the job well. Double lung pass through on the buck, and a quartering to shot on the doe, broke a shoulder, and lodged in the skin on the off side about 3/4 of the way back.
The .243 has become my favorite deer caliber this season. 4 deer, a 200 lb 5 point, a 170 lb doe, a 130 lb doe, and a 100 lb buck. None went further than 60 yards. The 2 bullets I used were the Winchester PowerPoint and Federal Fusions. Both shot great and are an affordable choice as well.
Not a Handi story, but 2 clean kills (and a clean miss

and lots of fresh meat that will be enjoyed, and a happy farmer who's farm I get to hunt again next year
