found a 45 carbine!
« on: February 20, 2010, 04:22:27 AM »
Just great!  Now I have to put my money where my mouth is! (said sarcastically)  I was talking with my local gunsmith yesterday about having an extra frame available for a barrel and wishing that H&R had the .45 colt barrel on the barrel program.  He emailed me back and said he has a new .45 carbine in stock.  Said he is selling it below dealer as he got a deal on buying two from the distributor.  So it priced at $275!  Great deal, but not at this time!  You know how it is, when the real deals are out there, you can't scrape together two pennys, and you are flush with money when you can't find what you want!  Well, I'll start calling in IOU's and see what I can do......   I'm always telling everyone else on here, when it is a good deal to just go ahead and do it.  Now I have to eat my own words and work on a way to do this.  44 Man

I know the feeling.  I was all set to get a 45LC.  Then I computed my taxes.  Lordy.  I reckon taking our money is Obama's way of gun control without actual legislation.

Im thinkin' that I should just buy what I want BEFORE I do the taxes (something like 85% of this economy is based on consumer spending) because after, as you say, it may not be there. Gee, let me think, support the economy or send it to the gov., which would be of more use right now to get us going again?

The local shop where I bought my last Handi rifle shows a pile of the CR-45LC Carbines "on sale" for $254.99 until 3/31/2010 on their website.
That's not much more than I just paid for a .357 Mag. Synthetic. I've not yet moved up to the 45 caliber Handi rifles and have never paid much notice to prices, so is this a low price for the 45LC Carbine?

It works...sorta... you have to click here under buy guns, then click gun search which opens the gun genie search box, $254.99 is a wonderful price.  ;) I checked Wholesale Sports (old Sportsman's Warehouse) in Vancouver yesterday, they had one iron sighted Handi, for $249.99, lots of bullets, no primers, very little brass,  I walked out with all my money.  :-\

Well, I got it all worked out.  Called in a couple of IOU's, and that will cover 90% of it!  $275 out the door, good enough for me, and it at a gunsmith that I like to support when I can.  He's done a lot of good trades with me over the years.  I'm happy!  44 Man.  (If I keep buying .45's, I'll soon have to change my handle to .45 Man!)
