Marlin 39A 30-30
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:13:26 AM »
Guys

My first hunting rifle was a Marlin 39A that my mom won in a raffle when she was 12 or so and it had never even unboxed when she gave it to me. I had scope on it from the time I got it until recently. I took the scope off to try the iron sites for a truck gun. It's hard to knock the scope off if there isn't one on it. Problem is that I lost the filler screws for the receiver a long time ago. Where can I find more?

Send me your address.  PM
I have a Brownells Assorted box of screws.
I will just send you 6 of each size of the fill screws.  I Figure you only need four but those litte bugger are slippery and having a few spares are a good idea.  I keep a 120 Lumin Flash light just to find small parts in the garage.
I should be able to get them out to you by Friday or Monday if i need to dig around in the garage to find them.
Or if you want your own box of screws go to the Brownells catalog and look in gunsmith supplies.

What is it?  The 39A is a .22, not a .30-30.  Is it a 336?

Correct about the 39A. It is a 30AS. sorry. I had to go get it out and look.

It was manufactured in 1986 so my mom got it when she was 17. Either way. I can't wait to get the screws from mcwoodduck.
