May have been Encore smitten (is it a good price?)
« on: January 30, 2010, 10:39:43 AM »
Long story, shortened.
Saw a stainless framed Encore, with a blued 7-08 (12" ?) no name red dot mounted with what I think to be the factory synthetic grip and forearm.
Made the mistake of touching it.
Now me thinks me wants it!!   :D
Tagged at $400, so about $440 out the door.
Is this a good price? (having never really looked at one before)

Encore frames alone go for $375 and up add another $175 or more for a barrel and that sounds like a good deal especially if you add the transfer fee and shipping for an online purchase.  Check Auctionarms and gunbroker for a working idea of any gun you plan on buying, it's kept me from paying too much for a few guns.

Plus,If that isnt the barrel or the red dot you want? Both are easily sold here, then buy what you want, again from the forum.Pay a lot less then new and everyone's happy.

That is a very good price, the best price I ever found was a blue one with factory walnut grips and a 15 inch 30-06 barrel, was as new and it was 475.00 at a gun show and it had no scope.

Well she came home with me today.

Will have to (shudder) buy some factory ammo to get a feel for her.
First 7mm-08, so don't have reloading gear for it, yet.
But now the fun begins.  ;D

purty, ain't she! Kind of like a speckled pup!  she will grow on you and then later she will have to have kennel mates!!
